Travel Day Via Yellowstone

We checked out of our hotel in West Yellowstone and decided to spend the morning at the Wolf and Grizzly Bear Discovery Center. This place is pretty cool! You can see wolves, grizzlys and birds of prey up close! The really cool thing is that all of these animals have either been injured, abandoned by their mother or in jeopardy of being put down and if they had not been rescued by the Center, they would not be around any longer. I couldn't get over how beautiful the wolves were!

From the Wolf and Grizzly Center we traveled through Yellowstone rather than going around it to get to Grand Teton National Park. On our way through Yellowstone, we stopped at the last couple of hydrothermal basins that we hadn't seen yet.

I think Sapphire Hotspring was my favorite. Look at this crystal clear, blue water! And the depth of it was outrageous! Leila and I really loved standing near the hot springs and feeling the heat stream over our faces. The heat mixed with a breeze was even better!

Right next to Sapphire was Jewel Geyser. Jewel was pretty awesome because although her eruptions we smaller than Old Faithful, the wait time between eruptions was much shorter and you could get a lot closer to the geyser!

I think this is Green Spring Hot Spring. Look at the different colors due to all the sediments!
From here, we ate at Old Faithful Inn again, it was on our way through the park, and then proceeded to exit Yellowstone through its South Gate. Next up...Grand Teton National Park!!!
