Emerald Ridge Graduation

Chris had the honor of calling names at this year's graduation ceremonies. I imagine it would have been special any year he was asked, but this year was especially poignant as this class of seniors has been with Chris for the last six years, three at Kalles Jr. High and then the last three years at ERHS. The commencement speaker, Mr. Bates, shared a wonderful talk entitled "Good-bye, Stay." I don't think there was a dry eye in the grandstands as he talked about how exciting it is to watch children grow and say good-bye to these seniors as they graduate, but there is always that feeling of wanting to shout "stay" as we watch them change and leave. These seniors have made quite the impact on Chris, Leila and me.  So often you hear about youth making inconsiderate, self-centered, lazy decisions and it is easy to become discouraged when thinking to the future of the country, but these seniors help us have hope for the generation to come. We are so excited to watch them as they begin their new journeys! There was no way I could post every picture... so here a just a few that capture the spirit of the ceremony. Break legs in the future, Class of 2013!
