The Happiest Surprise of the Summer!

We weren't planning on visiting Disneyland this summer. We were hoping to go next summer, but our plans changed on Sunday, August 19th. After getting some news that we had rather hoped would be different, Chris said, "I'm gonna make a phone call" and then went and hid in the yard so L and I couldn't hear his conversation. He came in after a few minutes and said, "Girls, what would you say about a trip to Disneyland?" Like he even needs to ask us!! Of course! He had called his Aunt Chris, who lives in southern CA, and the two of them (along with Uncle Ken) worked out all the details. Chris and Ken paid for the trip and worked out all the ticket purchasing. What a generous gift! We were so excited to get away for a bit, spend some time in the sun and leave our cares at home. We flew down Wednesday, Aug. 22nd and came home Monday, the 27th. A quick trip and rather late in our summer! I had to be back for teacher training on the 28th. We had a great time visiting Mickey and all his pals!

I had to take a picture of the Dapper Dans for a girlfriend who has never seen them in all her years of going to Disneyland.

Leila was fascinated with the street show in CA Adventure.

Midway through the day we ran into Michelle, Sandy's daughter. Sandy is Leila's amazing daycare provider and we were quite surprised to hear someone in line behind us say, "Hello, Leila!"

We headed back to Disneyland and met Rapunzel and Flynn. They spent a lot of time teasing and chatting with Leila.

Waiting in line for her favorite ride; Small World.

Disney parades are always the best!

While waiting in line to meet a few of the princesses, one of the royal attendants played with Leila. They kept sneaking up on another cast member. It was quite nice of the young lady and Leila thought is was so funny!

That night we looked at the Star Wars merchandise and L had to try some hats on.

On our way out of the parks that night, we passed the Lego store. Oh my goodness they have the coolest displays! The Beast was taller than me and made of Legos!

This was Leila at 11:00 that night. We were headed home for the day. Hopefully she was dreaming sweet, Disney dreams!
