Disney Day #2

Our second day in the Magic Kingdom started in Fantasyland. Visiting the last week of August was a pleasant surprise for us. It was still busy, but nothing like the mid-summer crowds we usually encounter in early July. For those of you that know Disneyland this will tell you something: we were able to practically walk right on to Peter Pan. We waited maybe 5 minutes! Our first hour in the park we rode Casey Jr.'s Train, Peter Pan, Dumbo, the carousel, the Teacups, Alice in Wonderland and Nemo's Sub Ride. Whew!

Nemo's ride is NOT one of Chris and my favorites, but Leila had never been on it and the line was SUPER short, so we went for it.
I took these two pictures for Granddad. His naval career was spent on submarines, so I thought he might enjoy them.

One of the cutest character meetings was when L met Aladdin. At home,  she never pretends to be Jasmine, she likes to be Aladdin instead. He has been her favorite for the last few years. They met last year too and she still has his picture taped on the wall by her bed. Now she has this year's photo right next to it. She was star struck and didn't really have much to say! That says a lot when Leila is NOT talking!!!

This year, Leila was tall enough to ride Splash Mountain. There is a double seat in the back of each log, so her and Daddy rode together. I tried to get a picture before we took the plunge down the drop.

Leila will tell you that she "got the soakingest!"

We had lunch at Ariel's Grotto and met some princesses while we ate.

Cinderella spent a lot of time at our table. She was so kind! Leila told her all about going on Splash Mountain. Cinderella told L that her mice did a lovely job on her hair. Leila made her feel her wet pants from Splash. It was a very sweet meeting.

The waiter brought L a special cupcake for her 5th birthday, which was just four days before our visit.

Following directions from Toy Story's green Army men. Can you spot Leila?
 Green men drum line.

Late that afternoon we finally met Tiana! The shadows of the setting sun made this picture not so great, but L was happy to have seen her.

Here's to a great day 2 at Disneyland!
