The ice rink right down the road from our house finally reopened after being remodeled. The first weekend of spring vacation we took Leila skating for the first time! Christopher's Papa Don would have been proud!! Growing up in the Soo, he was on ice skates at a very young age and he would have loved to see Leila's first go at it. Papa Mike and Gramma Shawn joined us for the evening.

Papa Mike hasn't skated in quite some time, but it all came back to him pretty quickly. He used to coach youth hockey, so he knows his way around the ice for sure!

She is already talking about the next time we go! She definitely loved the experience...which is super since she always tells us she is going to grow up and play hockey for the Red Wings!
