Science Fair ~ District Level

We were so proud of Leila's work for this STEM Showcase (AKA Science Fair)!! She earned a second place ribbon at the District Level in her grade level. So out of all the district's first graders, Leila placed 2nd! In addition to that fantastic work, she was also awarded the WSU Creativity in Plant Sciences Award! This award was only given to 7 children total in the whole school district...one in each grade level. Woohoo!! Way to go, Baby Girl. You make us so proud we feel we might burst!

This picture was taken that morning while she waited for the judges to visit her. She had to share and explain her project several times over the three hour judging window. She wasn't nervous at all.

This picture was the night before the STEM Showcase when she set her board up.

Elisabeth and Sergio

The Holmstrom side of the family threw a wedding shower for my cousin, Elisabeth, and her fiancĂ© Sergio. The whole California Crew was able to come to Portland to spend the weekend together. We had a great time! The night we traveled to Portland, we were just barely behind the Neeeleys, so we planned a pitstop for dinner so the kids could play a little while together. Edith and Leila loved showing each other their dolls.

The cousins...all grown up. Shawna, Elisabeth, me, Jon and Eric. When did I become the shortest one?!?!

The wagon was a HIT! Many, many spins around the neighborhood with varying numbers of children inside!

Easter Morning

Easter came bright and early the morning after we got home from our California visit. We had a low-key Easter. The Easter Bunny hid some eggs for Leila to find that morning and then we enjoyed breakfast together.

Legoland ~ Spring Break 2015

The last day of Spring Break, before we headed home on the airplane, we visited Legoland. This was a new experience for us! It was a lot of fun. We all think it would be worth another visit on future So Cal vacations.

Disneyland ~ Spring Break 2015

Do I even need to mention where we vacationed over Spring Break? Disneyland, of course!! It's one of our family's all-time favorite places to visit, so we never pass up a chance to enjoy the Magic Kingdom. This time we went with Shawn and Mike as well as Aunt Chris and Uncle Ken and we even stayed in the Disneyland Hotel. Lovely!!

Showin' our Disney Side!

Thanks to Mike's tired feet, we had the PERFECT place to enjoy the parade on Main Street! It was the BEST parade viewing we have had in a LONG while! Mike wasn't too interested in watching the Tiki Room birds again, so he said he would meet us on Main Street later. He spotted some empty benches on one of the porches and when we met up with him the parade was minutes from starting. The porch sat up higher than street level, so we had no one blocking our views, benches to rest on the whole length of the parade, and Starbucks to enjoy. Perfection!
