Tooth number 5 fell out on the school bus on the way home from school! Luckily, it wasn't lost and Leila was able to leave it for the Tooth Fairy that night. This time the Tooth Fairy came in the front window and left fairy dust all over our couch!!
For the first Halloween in a long time, Chris was able to join Leila and me for the festivities. Yay! He still had rehearsal so Leila and I trick or treated downtown Puyallup without him but he met up with us at his parents' house about 5:30pm.
When Chris got to his parents' neighborhood we went right out. None of us really wanted to wait until it got darker...and colder and wetter. We had the streets to ourselves. We trick or treated about ten houses and then called it. We spent the rest of the night at Gramma and Papa's, warm and cozy while we watched You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown.
I think you probably know this already from reading the blog, but we don't really carve our pumpkins...well sometimes we do, but not usually. Typically we just poke Mr. Potato Head pieces into our pumpkins. It saves time, Leila can participate more easily, it isn't as messy and seeing that none of us care about roasting seeds, the practice suits us perfectly! The Sunday morning before Halloween we spent some time getting our pumpkins ready for the big day.

Last year we participated in LeMay's Trunk or Treat. We had so much fun designing and hosting a trunk that we couldn't wait to repeat the experience. Leila and I decided on a Wizard of Oz theme. She wasn't dressing as Dorothy (that was last year's costume) but once we decked the trunk out in Emerald City decor, she decided that she would wear her Dorothy costume again, but just for Trunk or Treat. Just like last year it was cold and wet, but compared to the torrential, steady downpour of 2012 it was a huge improvement!
Leila is already planning our trunk's theme for next fall!
We try to make it to a PLU women's volleyball game or two every season. Our friend, Tim, coaches the lady Lutes and we love supporting the alma mater! Leila is already talking about attending college at PLU...no lie! She is worried though that if she goes to college it means that she will not be able to visit Disneyland again. These words came out of her mouth the night we went to the volleyball game during Homecoming Week. Oh, honey...you can do both.
For the second year in a row Leila and I took a girls' trip to Portland to visit the family and hit the pumpkin patch together. While I love the feel of the Savie Island Pumpkin Patch, the traffic is terrible! Both visits have been crowded and sunny, sunny, sunny. The sun is beautiful, but just doesn't seem like pumpkin patch weather. Anyway....we had a great time with Grammy, Granddad, Uncle Jonny and Auntie Amanda.

We all congregated at Mom and Jim's NEW HOUSE that evening to carve pumpkins and eat dinner. I love their new place...it has a really homey feel!

In mid-October Chris and I were able to see one of our favorite bands play the Triple Door in Seattle. We love Carbon Leaf and anyone who follows this blog will remember that they have a very special place in our hearts. I went into labor with Leila while we were at Carbon Leaf's concert and we had their album playing in the delivery room when she made her debut into the world. Anyway, needless to say, anytime Carbon Leaf makes it out this way from Virginia, Chris and I always jump at tickets. The Triple Door is an awesome venue! It was our first time there and we were thrilled with our seats. Right in front of the stage is a long bar-like table then a walkway then the first row of booths. We had a table in the first row of booths. Amazing!
