I have always liked St. Patrick's Day! Recently I discovered just how easy Irish soda bread is to bake. The last few years I have made a loaf for our St. Paddy's Day dinner. This year was no exception. To make is even better, this year and last year I have had a little helper! Leila likes to spread the egg on the top of the loaf prior to it going in the oven. I had to laugh when I realized that she was baking bread for St. Pat's Day while wearing her Christmas nightgown.

Hair Cut
Leila has had several hair cuts over the last years, but they always end up being just a trim. Usually, I only have 1-2 inches trimmed off. On March 15th we went for another haircut and since Leila's hair had gotten so long I was wanting about 4 inches cut off. It ended up being about 7 inches! I was heart sick!! She looked dang cute, but she started to cry in the car and that made me feel terrible. It took a good three days for me to get use to it. Needless to say, she has already started to grow it out again! Luckily her hair grows so quickly that before we know it it will be the perfect length!!

Sprinker Ice Rink
We really enjoy living so close to the Sprinker Ice Rink. Since Christmas, we have been ice skating much more frequently!! Sunday nights are cheap skate sessions so we save a little money. We really enjoy ending our weekends together at the skate rink. Leila is getting so much better! With each session we attend, her skating skills are improving by leaps and bounds!
This is Leila's "I came here to skate, not take pictures, Mom!!" face.
We stayed after the cheap skate session and watched about 15 minutes of drop-in hockey practice.
Thunderbirds Hockey
We had a three day weekend in March and had Friday, the 8th, off. It was the first Friday night after Christopher's show had finished so we actually had him home with us!! We took advantage of a Smith Brothers milk carton offer and got discount hockey tickets for us and our friends, the Neeleys. Elliott had never been to a hockey game before and Leila was excited to watch his first game with him. We had a very fun evening together! We can't wait to go again next season!!
Leila, her Cool Bird from a few years ago, Elliott and his brand new Cool Bird!
The kids spent some time coloring...when they weren't snacking and watching the game.
Cool Bird came to say hello!
He even danced with Leila!
On our way out, we stopped for a group picture. The top section of the building is mirrored and slants down toward the crowds. This is us in the reflection of the ceiling part of the Showare Center.
Guys and Dolls
Once again, Chris, the cast and crew put on a wonderful production!! This year's musical was Guys and Dolls. The high schoolers were amazing! Chris continues to raise the bar for high school theatrical productions! I know some of you who have never watched one of his shows are thinking I am completely biased and have to say those types of things since I am married to him. Well, I invite you to any of his upcoming productions so you can witness the magic with your own eyes. They are truly outstanding!!
Leila, like always, was fascinated with the big kids and their characters. Her favorite this year was Kayla as Adelaide.

Austin and Leila are light board buddies! Austin always takes her to the tech booth so they can play with the lights on stage.
Here's to another great ERHS musical!!
Loose Tooth #2
Just when Leila's smile was sans holes, her second wiggly tooth started! In mid February she started telling us that it hurt when we brushed her teeth. Sure enough, wiggly tooth #2 was working its way out of her smile. She finally lost it (at Sandy's house again!) the first week of March. It was the second week of shows for Chris, but we ran up to the school quickly before the show started so Daddy could see her new smile! This one is growing in rather crooked. Yikes!!! I am hoping that with time, and after losing the one next to it, this new one will straighten out a bit.
