A Reading Spot

Leila's new favorite place to read (and boy does she like her books) is on Raja's back. Here she is reading her latest Dr. Seuss Book Club book while waiting for it to get dark enough for fireworks.

Mariner's Game

Jim and Uncle Tom are major Mariners fans! This last weekend the family came up from Portland and we took in a game at Safeco Field. We had a great time with perfect weather! Our seats were on the first base side and really close to the action.

Singing Take Me Out to the Ball Game! We taught Leila the song in the car that morning while driving to the game. It only took hearing it twice and she knew it!

Time for the WAVE!!
All of sudden, Leila started doing this...
She told us she was stretching to prepare for running the bases. That's right, it was a Sunday and the kids were invited to run the bases after the game. This is the first time of the season for kids to do that. Here is a picture from under the stadium.

Her First Mitt

Last weekend we went to see the Mariners play. Early that morning, Chris and Leila got up and headed out in search of a small baseball mitt for her. They came home with a pink, small mitt and Leila couldn't stop smiling! No sooner were the tags cut off and she insisted on trying it out. I loved watching her and Chris play catch for what I am sure will be the first of many times.

Umbrella Fun

Leila loves to take her umbrella outside when it is raining. This weekend she decided it would be just as fun to take a stroll under the sprinkler with her umbrella.

She was posing like Hercules does, but didn't quite finish before the water came back to get her.
