Mother's Day

 We celebrated Mother's Day with Gramma and GG on Sunday morning before the three of us headed to Seattle for the rest of the day. Leila, Chris and I enjoyed the Seattle Aquarium and all it has to offer. Leila was excited to touch the tide pool creatures...this is still a new activity for her since she just realized that it isn't scary. After the time at the aquarium, we headed to Red Robin on the Seattle waterfront for dinner. It was a great day together.

Dance Costumes

The dance costumes finally came in! Leila's class was the last to receive their costumes and their class wasn't even in the costume book...so it was a big surprise to see what they looked like. Oh, the girls LOVE them! We took a couple of pictures prior to the class's official picture slot that Tuesday. 

Leila has made two good friends in class this year and we wanted to take some pictures of them as well.

Sunny Days

 The first weekend of May brought warm weather! Leila was even able to play outside in the sprinkler. Grammy had given her a bug catcher net and she was thrilled to run around the backyard and give that a try too.

May the 4th

 May 4th is Star Wars Day! We didn't miss a chance to dress up for day in order to celebrate some of our favorite friends, Chewie, Han, Luke, Leia and Yoda. May the 4th be with you!

Hockey Helmet

 Chris and I ordered Leila a hockey helmet for our Sunday night skate sessions. She was so excited to have a helmet that looks just like Christopher's. She is thinking she wants to take hockey lessons sometime this coming year, so we opted for a helmet with a removable cage (she needs a cage if she does end up playing hockey). The Sunday after her helmet was delivered, we had to go try it out!! Leila looked so stinkin' cute!! It was extra fun because Auntie Lynn also joined us for the evening!!

Then Danny stopped by too for a quick visit so he took our group picture.

Sunday at the Zoo

 The last Sunday in April we woke up and decided it looked like a great morning to visit the zoo. We didn't have any special occasion, but our membership was renewed for another year so we might as well put it to good use!! Leila had a few new experiences this time around, the biggest one being that she FINALLY touched the sea stars, anemones and urchins!!! In all her visits to the zoo she has NEVER wanted to do this! In addition to this, we found the lizards this time around tucked in beside the budgies' exhibit. We have never recognized that building before. Fun!

These little guys were quite possibly the CUTEST thing at the zoo...baby meerkats!! There were five of them; Bigsby, Mushu, Lilo, Fidget and Basil. They were full of energy and we must have watched them a good 20 minutes!
